Taste of the World 2015, a guided tour of restaurants in east Charlotte, was held on October 1 and was a huge success.The event celebrated its 10th year anniversary in 2015. Selling out again this year, a crowd of 355 participants boarded 17 buses to explore the diverse cuisine found in east Charlotte.
Taste of the World participants gathered at the VanLandingham Estate in Plaza Midwood. There they joined others in a tasting tour to three select restaurants out of 27 participating restaurants. Participants returned to the VanLandingham Estate for dessert and a toast led by NC legislator Senator Jeff Jackson.
Taste of the World is produced by Charlotte EAST, a local non-profit run by a volunteer board committed to improving the quality of life in east Charlotte. Taste of the World counts on the tremendous contributions of an army of 70 volunteers to bring the evening to life.
